    PROVIDER EDUCATION

    Co-Chair: Lesley Brooks, MD, North Colorado Health Alliance

    Co-Chair: Joshua Blum, MD, Denver Health

    The Provider Education work group focuses on issues relating to improving the education and training of health care professionals who prescribe, dispense, or otherwise provide care for those receiving prescription medications with the potential for misuse, abuse, or diversion.

    The Provider Education work group’s goals for 2017-18 are to:

    • Finalize and certify for continuing medical education (CME) the first round of pain/opioid education modules;
    • Develop a speakers bureau, with at least two speakers for each of the topics;
    • Increase live events by 20 percent over previous year;
    • Host the first annual education summit: “The Best of the Consortium;”
    • Develop one additional education platform; and
    • Develop stronger connection with state medical professional societies, with regular participation in work group by a representative.

    The Provider Education work group meets every other month by teleconference. The current work group roster, most recent meeting minutes, and upcoming meeting schedule are available on the left-hand side of this page.

    Please contact us at info@corxconsortium.org for more information on the Provider Education work group or to volunteer to participate in the group’s activities.
