HARM REDUCTION

Co-Chair:  Lisa Raville, Executive Director, Harm Reduction Action Center

Co-Chair:  Chris Stock, PharmD

The Harm Reduction Work Group focuses on increasing awareness of and access to the opioid overdose reversing drug naloxone in the State of Colorado and making clinical, organizational, and public policy recommendations to achieve this goal.

The Harm Reduction Work Group formerly was the Naloxone Work Group. It changed its name and expanded its focus in January 2018.

The Harm Reduction Work Group’s goals for 2017-18 are to:

  • Increase the number of committee members/expand membership by adding more harm reduction providers, nurses, students, and peer support advocate(s);
  • Collaborate with the Consortium community outreach coordinator and other partners to develop a Colorado-specific naloxone training video;
  • Collaborate with the Consortium community outreach coordinator and other partners to develop “Lunch and Learn” programs for pharmacy, nursing, medical students and other trainees (such as pharmacy residents, medical residents) regarding overdose awareness and naloxone distribution; and
  • Identify and apply for additional funding to offset costs of naloxone expansion.

The Harm Reduction Work Group meets every month (in person and by remote conferencing). The current work group roster, most recent meeting minutes, and upcoming meeting schedule are available on the left-hand side of this page.
